So at 5 months and 3 weeks, this finally happened this weekend…
First batch of solids (gala apples, sweet potatoes, and rainbow carrots)!
I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s the elaborate dance of the shopping, the prepping/cleaning, the cooking, the pureeing, and the freezing of the fruits and vegetables, but there’s something about starting solids that really makes me giddy.
Or maybe it’s that we’re finally at that point where breastfeeding starts slowing down and solids begin to take center stage more and more. I just remember that with Ollie, this was the turning point, where I felt less tied down to the house and less like a cow with her teats at the ready
and more like a mom.. 🙂
